The Melanin Money Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to empower individuals from marginalized communities and advance economic stability both in the United States and globally. As the philanthropic arm of Melanin Money Enterprises, the Foundation seeks to address systemic barriers to wealth-building by providing targeted resources and opportunities. Our focus areas include fostering economic empowerment, combating food and housing insecurity, and supplementing essential resources for those in need.
Why We Exist
We believe that closing the wealth gap is not only achievable but essential for creating equitable opportunities for all. The Melanin Money Foundation exists to bridge the gap by equipping individuals and families with the tools, education, and support needed to achieve financial independence. By addressing critical issues such as food and housing insecurity and providing resources tailored to community needs, we aim to empower 100,000 families to build sustainable wealth and brighter futures.
Our Founders
George Acheampong
Co-Founder and Investment Specialist
George is a financial advisor and wealth manager with over a decade of experience. He is the founder of Capitalwize, LLC, where he works with aspiring and current first-generation millionaires to build and sustain generational wealth. Through Melanin Money, George is committed to creating targeted initiatives and programs that directly address the wealth gap for communities of color.
Carter Cofield
Co-Founder and Tax Specialist Carter is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS)
Carter is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs to achieve financial freedom. As the Lead Advisor at Cofield Advisors, LLC, he helps business owners strategically navigate taxes while fostering growth and financial independence. His dedication to financial literacy and empowerment underpins the mission of the Melanin Money Foundation.
